BYT Architects is a multidisciplinary practice in Thiruvananthapuram, designing homes, commercial spaces and interiors across Kerala.
The studio
BYT Architects was founded in 2019 as a multidisciplinary consultancy — architecture, town planning, urban design and civil engineering working side by side. That mix means a project is thought through from the scale of the city to the detail of a doorway, by the same people, from start to finish.
We are deliberately small. Taking on a measured number of projects lets us stay close to each one — listening carefully to the brief, testing ideas against the realities of site and budget, and following the work through construction rather than handing it off.
Our approach is grounded in the place we build in. Kerala’s light, rain and craft traditions are not constraints to design around but the raw material of the work — the reason a house here should look and feel unlike one built anywhere else.

Listen first
Good buildings start with good questions. We spend time understanding how you live or work before we draw anything.
Design for climate
Daylight, ventilation and shade are designed in from the outset, so comfort doesn’t depend on machinery.
Respect the site
Every plot has its own orientation, slope and surroundings. The design answers those specifics rather than a template.
Build to last
Honest materials and sound detailing mean the work ages gracefully and stays easy to maintain.
